The video quality might not be of the highest order but for those of you who like to get an inkling of U.K. courses, and this chap is particularly fond of rural, rustic and quirky ones, there are likely a few here that might be of interest - https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCTtoFsywJdgiQRLUHmxfwkQ/videos

Smithy is a likeable chap with excellent taste in cheap unheralded golf courses, of which he plays around 200 per year.

His job involves him working 3 or 4 hours each evening on a laptop. He basically lives in Premier Inns playing golf all day, working in the evening followed by a few beers. An enviable lifestyle!

I’ve played with him at Cavendish and Hoylake  - he’s good fun!

Just for fun I clicked on his review of St. Bees Golf Club [which I had never heard of].  I could barely tell what he's saying, between the accent and the wind on his microphone as he shot video of each hole.  Nonetheless, it was a good peek at a course I would otherwise never have heard of, and I admired the effort!

This is a great resource. I had a look at Bangor St. Deiniol GC video and it looked like a bunch of fun, loads of quirky holes and some wild terrain and only 25-30 pounds green fee:

Bumping this thread as Smithy has been to a fair few more courses over the last few months many of which are the sort of under the usual radar courses beloved of many posting herein.
He seems to have a new camera/‘phone-cam so the quality of the recent videos Kettering than those he’s posted previously.
Enjoy.

The back nine at Porthmadog looks absolutely enchanting..

You will be missed. It is always a pleasure to share the course with you. Besr Regards
"Golf is happiness. It's intoxication w/o the hangover; stimulation w/o the pills. It's price is high yet its rewards are richer. Some say its a boys pastime but it builds men. It cleanses the mind/rejuvenates the body. It is these things and many more for those of us who truly love it." M.Norman

Some folks need to crowdsource a microphone with a wind shield.
