Phoenix Open beer throwing at Scottsdale 'unacceptable' says PGA Tour chief

The throwing of beer and water bottles at last month's Phoenix Open was "unacceptable" and will be "addressed", says PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan.

Carlos Ortiz was "nailed with a beer can" after making a hole-in-one on the par-three 16th at Scottsdale, which is framed by stadium-style seating.
Hundreds of cans and bottles were also thrown when Sam Ryder aced the hole."The health and safety of athletes and fans is our number one priority," Monahan told BBC Sport.

I can't imagine they are going to limit beer sales....

And in light of that, I also can't imagine them trying to hurl hundreds, if not thousands, of self-entitled, belligerent, drunk fans during play.  I guess CBS will still have a field day showing the replay 100s of times of beer cans splashing about...

Netting it is...

Why blame the poor innocent beer when it's simply attached to the self-entitled a-hole hurling it?

When I read the subject I thought this meant that next year they will not run out of beer.

Are they going to do water in paper cups also?  Water bottles are almost as bad as beer cans.

They're worse, particularly if you let the fans keep the caps
