Any impressions of the Stiles and Van Kleek effort on Cape Cod? A quick search of the archives didn’t turn up anything. Thanks.

I am hoping to play this summer. Whenever I am driving through, I take it at 10 MPH to the dismay of those behind me and then I turn around and check out the north/south views. The conditioning and fescue appear to be world class and the insane glacial topography invites comparisons to Eastward Ho! Throw in the clubhouse and it seems kind of perfect. It was one of Rich Goodale's favorites and it has been on my radar for thirty years.

Michael-The land movement at sea level is impressive which is easy to pick up on your way to the ferry. Stiles solo designs or when partnered with Van Kleek never seem to disappoint. I was always a fan of Rich Goodale’s take too and will report back after playing.

Hi Tim,

Finally got to this one a couple years ago, it’s really cool.  Looks short on paper, but it packs a ton of variety into 6300y or whatever.  Wild land movement, and some really memorable shots…and a great logo!

I’ll leave the rest for you to discover.

I just happened to be in Falmouth this past weekend and went and checked out Woods Hole GC. I knew absolutely nothing about it other than what was reported on this thread and what I saw did not disappoint!  I did not get the chance to play but walked around the property and clubhouse and was very impressed. Looks like a very cool course and club and as someone mentioned seems to be in some ways very similar to Eastward Ho! which I have played and absolutely loved.
I had a lengthy and nice talk with longtime Head Pro Glenn Kelly who was extremely friendly and accommodating. Just a very cool spot. I hope to get back and play it at some point.

I recently got a trip around WHGC. It’s an exceptional piece of ground that is similar to Eastward Ho providing a wonderful mix of holes with Quissett Harbor and Buzzards Bay on the perimeter. Both make intermittent appearances throughout the round with the elevation changes giving way to some blindness on both tee shots and approaches. The routing has the greens and tees close together and the walk flows beautifully over the property. The green surfaces are subtly contoured with a fair amount of slope leading to some really fun putts along the way. The stretch of 8-12 has three par five holes all playing differently in the middle portion of the round. A fresh Spring wind added even more intrigue which has to be an ever present feature regardless of season based on the location. It should be on the list of Cape Cod’s best and has some all world views from the course, clubhouse and golf shop.
