I was fortunate to meet Tim, just once, while I was helping out with PGA.com's social media presence at the 2010 PGA Championship. We were the only two riders on a media shuttle to Whistling Straits. I knew who he was, but kept to myself. As a kid in college, I didn't want to bother him. However, less than a couple of minutes into the drive, he started up a conversation with me, asking me what my role was that week, and about my young career in the golf industry. He seemed genuinely interested and was very kind. He was intrigued by what I was telling him I was doing that week...he had not yet joined Twitter and actually asked me several questions about it...I think he joined a few months after the championship. He made my day. Rest in peace, sir.

I forget the year (I think 2016) after Cobb's Creek was inducted into the AAGHOF, Mike Cirba and I were in Florida for the induction.  Rosaforte gave a short talk and we were able to meet him.  A genuine fellow.

RIP, Tim Roseforte.

Met and chatted with him twice at the ANGC Wed GWAA dinner.  He knew many of the same media folks I also knew in the DC area.  First thing he said to me when I told him where in DC I played was, "Jesus, you have a miserably hard golf course!"

What a brutal disease.

A big loss for golf and for those who knew him.

Really sad to hear as although quick, I'm sure an awful end for his family. I really liked Tim's segments and insights for he dug for the nuggets and allowed us to follow along what he uncovered. Had a very endearing presence and a loss for golf for sure. RIP.

Having dealt with this scourge, I am tempted to say it is merciful that the duration of his onslaught was brief, but perhaps his family feels otherwise.  It's always a stunner when such a high functioning person such as Rosaforte or Pat Summit are struck down by this.  Sorry for his family, but his time of frustration and confusion is over.  RIP.

At The Masters about 20 years ago, I bumped into Tim Rosaforte. I was wearing a Golf Channel hat. He asked me if I worked there. He laughed when I told him i bought the hat via their website. We talked about Ernie Els swing. He was very open and wished me well with my swing. I followed his work until he retired about 2  years ago.  May he rest in peace.

Matt Ginella does a great tribute on the Firepit podcast that was posted last week.
