Has anyone been out to see Hanse's work at Jonathan's Landing or the WP Muni?  I think the Muni opens later this year.

I live in the area and every time I drive on 95 I do my best to look between the trees to see the progress they’ve made on the West Palm muni. I drove past it this past week and it looked like at least parts of it has been grassed. I’ll be very interested to see how it turns out. I was very sad to see the prior iteration be lost. Always a fun place to play.

I haven’t seen Hanse’s work at Jonathan’s Landing but know a member who seems very excited about the work they’ve done there. I’m hopeful I’ll get to see it after it opens, sounds like it should be really good.
So bad it's good!

There was some grassing pics on Brad Faxon's IG accounting throughout the summer of JL.

Here is a recent pic of WP on twitter.

I really like what they are trying to do here by moving all of the water to the outside of the property so that the course doesn't feel so much like a FL course.

Those old photos of Boca Raton South and some other early Florida courses had such a nice look to them with the sandiness and openness and this seems like it is more in that mode.

There are just thousands of bad ponds on FL golf courses right now.

The JL course is called “Match” as it is intended for risk reward thinking throughout.   It’s a short course, around 6000 yards, and is a very different experience than what I would call “normal” golf, where you hit driver on most par fours and fives and go from there.   There are many 300ish yard holes, for example, and par fives that are around 450 that tempt you. There are a couple 400 yard par fours, but that’s it.   Sure you can bang a driver on the shorter holes, but the design is such that there are many obstacles, mounds, bunkers to navigate if you want to play that way.  In general, the closer you are to the green off the tee the more there is to navigate or move your ball in a direction that is not optimal.   It’s very unique, and quite fun to play.  You really need to think and plot your way to the green, even on a 300 yard par four, and the greens are quite wild in general, given that if you play conservatively, you should have a shorter iron and be able to get to the proper section of the green with control. Or, have a whack with your driver and see where you end up! They took out most trees, so it’s windy and open to look at the whole course from wherever you are.  Great match play course.  They actually built 20 holes, so each nine has an alternate 7th hole of the nine that takes you back home for a quick round.
JL has two other more traditional courses, so the unique Match course makes a great addition.

Hmm . . . looks more like +/ - 6,450 yards and I don't see any par 5s under 500 yards?

That’s from the back tees.  There are 3 teeing areas, also with a lot of options.
