You cannot put a price on life-changing memories.
Maybe my perspective is slightly different because, as an Aussie, i live so far away from 3/4 of the worlds greatest courses (so the green fee becomes a lessor factor)? Also, I am far from a rich man, but I can think of many, many courses i would pay $1000++++ to play (or replay)*,
and.....
I will ask pretty much the same question a different way in a separate post to follow, but....
*starting with , but not exclusively,
ANGC (not played so an obvious choice), TOC, PV, CP, NGLA, Oakmont (& I could go on)
Furthermore, Cruden Bay & North Berwick (not included above because , even though it'd be worth it, they would not charge that much).
Bottom line is that i love & have loved the chance to play these wonderful courses & an arbitrary figure like A$1000 could not buy back those memories.
Bottom line #2 is that i know on my death bed i will NOT NOT NOT say...."I am glad i saved that $1000 & skipped TOC, PV, CP, NGLA, Oakmont"
