I hadn't seen this before. It's rather fun!

Games gone soft!
How many who play golf today would still play if the only clubs and balls available were like those TJ and DM are using in the film (and that’s ignoring other aspects like the clothes and the course conditioning)?

If you had to have a beard like that, I'd give up for certain.

What great fun.
If the beards were any bushier it would be difficult to see the ball looking down. Didn't realize that was the look in those days, but I'm sure it was. Love Jacklin's swing.

How many people actually played golf back in the days when those clubs were the norm?  A few thousand maybe?

Smart money was on Champion Golfer of the Year - and slayer of Hazeltine.

You know there were all sorts of caddy side bets, if they really wanted to be authentic to the times.

The Pro from 52nd Street never had a chance.

Neither would the Armenian from San Francisco - I made a six with Ping irons and a Lady Precept . . . . with that equipment, I'd still be out there.

I'd really like to see Brooks and Bryson recreate this - except with featheries.

I suspected that the southern Scottish brogue was a bit different from the one heard in the highlands, and Mr. Marr confirmed it. Little-known bit of linguistic data for those who are bored on this Sunday.
