Sully, that is one insightful comment as it is indeed the most elusive green I've ever approached.

Also, when last there it took my 10 tries to get up and down from 5 paces off the green.

If I ever play a Tom D course and come across a green I really don't like I'm going to describe it as 'elusive'.

I was planning on using 'jejune', but this is better

It is not, Joe.  Before I provide more context I just wanted to see what people thought at first blush.  More to follow.

Thanks for the assist.

Hmmm it looks like a practice chipping green for there is no green surround with a fairway I can see? Looks very small as well.

With the exception of the greens this course is unirrigated and the surrounds you see are fairway cut.   I'd estimate the putting surface at 3800 square feet.

It reminds me of the small, undulating greens at the nine hole Holyoke Golf Club (CO) I played earlier this year.  They were tough targets and difficult to get up and down once missed

I'd say it looks perfect.

Small, and set slightly askew to the fairway (presuming we are middle of the green and off to the left) so the ball will want to be coming in from the left (either left side of the fairway or with shape). Looks like a bunker along the right side, front half of the green, further accentuating the value of the left side.

Raised slightly above surrounds so water runs off and away. Look how healthy the green looks!

Looks like an "easy bogey if you want but to make a par you'd better hit good shots"...kind of green to me.

If this is what is celebrated as great design now, I think I'll just have to retire.  Obviously, there may be some great subtleties if I played it, but visually, it's a big bag of nothing.

There is no issue, Sean.  I'll update tomorrow, but it is the most difficult 300 yards hole I've come across and it's home sweet home.  I love it.
