Overseeding
« on: November 09, 2021, 08:37:25 AM »
I played Ford Field and River Club (Ford's Plantation) last week. They had overseeded wall to wall. I know it is expensive and controversial and I do not mind playing on dormant bermuda. That said, the surface was extraordinary. We didn't get much chase off the tee, but hitting a three wood for my old slow swing speed made me feel young again.

I enjoy chipping off of overseed, it is much easier then dormant bermuda. However, I enjoy dormant bermuda for everything else, I also like when they paint the greens - I do like the contrast.

Courses may be changing their overseed routine this year.  Due to residential demand and weather issues, seed is in short supply and prices have doubled.  Wall to wall overseeding could cost an 18 hole course well over $100,000 more than last year.

Constantly blamed by 8-handicaps for their 7 missed 12-footers each round.

Lol. Every day we stray further from God's light.
Don't play too much golf. Two rounds a day are plenty.
