Thanks for the link. I liked the last few lines of the article:

Burke did have some parting advice for the new owner, though.

“I told them, no tennis courts and no dance halls,” he said. “I thought it was the right time to sell, but I’m going to be here until the day I die.”

Great news for the future of Champions. I have fond memories of seeing Mr Burke in the locker room at Champions post round visiting with all the members and guests- a man's man.

let's not forget that the only reason Champions has a pool is that it provided a fire water supply...

let's not forget that the only reason Champions has a pool is that it provided a fire water supply...


The other reason is Mr. Burke is well known for being very frugal.


I'm hoping the boys spend some money to update the club.
