The difference between the senior amateurs and senior tour pros is like night and day.
I guess you have to define that. Tell that to Robert Funk, who made the cut in two of the last three Senior Ams he played in, beating all kinds of household names in the process.
Can an am win? No. But the top senior ams always have a fighting chance of making the cut against the big boys. And Funk didn't even qualify for the Senior Am this year.
If Funk thinks the difference is "night and day," do you think he makes the cuts he made? Hell no. He knows he can compete with them -- and he did.
The very best senior ams (Top 20 - 30 in the U.S.) all can make the cut at a U.S. Senior Open depending on how their games shape up that week. To me, that's not "night and day."
