Way On-Topic: A McBride Visits Scotland
« on: August 04, 2021, 06:24:41 PM »
It’s with much excitement, we can now announce the impending visit of a McBride offspring to the Home of Golf. David and a few well-chosen friends have finalised their plans for a trip to Bonnie Scotland. They’re arriving 22nd August, staying until the 28th. They have a pretty full itinerary including St A New and TOC, Dumbarnie, Muirfield and Gleneagles with the possibility of one or two side-trips. They’ll be staying in St A and Edinburgh.
I’m going to catch up with him at St A and hopefully host at Ladybank if we can make it work.
It would be awesome if any other GCAers currently in the area would like to meet up with him. I can think of a few who might… and I can’t think of a better excuse for a wee Balvenie Doublewood at the Dunvegan!
Either post here or drop me a PM if you want any more info.
CHEERS,
F.

BTW I did sprinkle a few of Uncle Billy's ashes in an unnamed by me bunker. His motes will be floating over TOC for years to come
"Golf is happiness. It's intoxication w/o the hangover; stimulation w/o the pills. It's price is high yet its rewards are richer. Some say its a boys pastime but it builds men. It cleanses the mind/rejuvenates the body. It is these things and many more for those of us who truly love it." M.Norman

Your uncle was the best . . . . . just make sure to wear a Gaucho shirt, hat or head-cover in his honor.

He was a proud alumni from the planet Isla Vista and the OG's around here miss him terribly.

David and his group have landed so lucky with a fabulous week of weather here in Bonnie Scotland. We managed to catch up at TOC, where they had a total blast. Last day today and back home tomorrow.

Great to have a McBride here!
Cheers,
F.

This fills my heart.  How we miss "Wild Bill"!   Our 2016 'last trip' to Sand Hills, and Dismal R., will always be cherished.
No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

Mine too, Uncle Dick. Getting together with GCAers from all around the world is easily the best by-product of this mad place.
