YOK 6 in New Albany (aka The Golf Club)
« on: August 14, 2021, 11:35:57 AM »
I've learned a few things over the years, so I'd like to come back and do some more work.

What hole has the stepping stones?  I don't remember those from playing the course back in the old days.

I believe that it is five. I believe that it is one of the things learned over the years.

The 5th was also the hole that seemed to be changed the most in the renovation, so maybe they added that feature.

There are actually stones on both 5 and 6 and I believe those in the photo are on 6.

The stones actually come and go based on water flows in the creek. After a couple days of heavy rains they’re underwater.

You are correct, Jason. I thought it was the par three, but it was the brute of a par four.

One of my favorite 4’s in the world! And quite possibly the hardest!

I ripped a right-handed power fade at the left trees, and it cut back JUST ENOUGH to clear the gunga. Had I known how precarious my line was, I'd have angled farther right. As it was, I had 7-iron in, when the others were hitting hybrid or laying up before the creek. #KillJohnKill, in the words of the late Squeeky Medlin.

One of my top days in golf.
-Matched up with host against my traveling buds. 14 handicap YOK was even-par through six holes, and my host/partner looked at me with not-so-friendly eyes;
-Made birdie on three of last five holes to win the match (host lifted his share as well) and walk away with $5;
-Pure golf.
