Mide Modano makes an albatross in celebrity tournament
« on: July 11, 2021, 10:48:46 PM »
So Mike Modano made an albatross on Friday at the Lake Tahoe celebrity tournament.  But isn't this a rules violation of the caddie lining up the player?

As a Stars fan, it was cool to watch, but I wondered the same thing.  Is there a limit to how early you have to back away as a caddy?

Its a celeb event and the winners usually donate the money to charity, so i'm guessing they don't get thier knickers in a twist over minor rules violations.  I've seen some questionable things on 17 as well with all the fans, but don't think anyone really cares.

P.S. The shit Pat Reed has pulled thou...in real events no less... is worse IMO. ;)

I was playing in a US Am qualifier yesterday and holed out a shot from 180 yards on a par 4. Later in the round, my playing partner made an albatross from about 220.

It got me wondering what might be the most yards of hole outs from one group in golf history.

Outside of the sand thing in the silly season event, what else has he been proven to have done?

Modano made a nice birdie.

My understanding is you cannot at any point step in and help the player line up.

Are you referring to the 2015 incident or the 2018 incident?

Or the one that occurred this year?  ;D

Hence "proven to have done." He did nothing wrong this year unless you suspect he pushed the ball down before removing it.

And for the record, I (almost) always root for chaos.  :)
