A hard no for me, but good for them. I’d try it once for 80 bucks.

Surely Ardfin, at £1800 for a day, or whatever it is, is way higher than this?

Different courses will define it different ways in the quest for free publicity.  :D

The real question is why the press gives them any.

Shadow Creek used to have this incredible aura about it, mostly because you barely saw pictures from the course.

Now that it's been on TV a bunch and there are photos everywhere, I can't say the thought of playing there stirs my golfing loins the same way it used to.

I'd like to know how many "whales" are comped when they play any casino related course.

I have a friend who plays there several times a year and is always comped. Not sure what defines a whale but he loses about $25,000 year

The most expensive green fee of the year will belong to me in August when I play my first round since September.

They've had a new GM for a few years and now have had successful PGA and LPGA events with lots of eyeballs on TV wondering about playing.
Demand is way up and they don't want a lot of play, and will get the money.
It's my favorite Fazio. Doak could not have built it even if he had an interest, and thus throws shade.
It is no C&C but more like an escape where you are just playing golf in an man made arboretum.
for the Wynn!

Guessing your friend is a pretty good gambler to only lose $25,000 and get comped every time he goes.

In all seriousness, I know it's based on tier levels - I know Noir gets pretty easy access - to get Noir, it's based on theoretical losses or revenue for the casino -- my friends that are Noir lose way more than $25,000 a year.  In fact, some lose that in an hour.  Again, maybe your friend is a much smarter gambler.

What I am curious about is how many rounds are played where the person actually pays the greens fee.  If almost all rounds are to clients that are comped any way, they could theoretically charge $10,000 a round or something like that and it would all be meaningless anyway -- but it would make the comp more "valuable" to the "whale".

WTF is your problem?

I gave the course a 9 in my book.  And my comment on the green fee was by no means "throwing shade" at the course, it was a comment on the nature of the golf business.

Troll somewhere else, bozo.  And use your real name while you're at it.
