The Good Doctor, ehm, ‘returns’?
« on: June 29, 2021, 10:35:20 AM »

Think the organisers may have misspelled his name slightly, but I’m looking forward to seeing him at next Sunday’s ‘Australia Cup’ at the Castle Course with the New Club.

Anything you’d like me to ask him?

Martin:

Maybe you can ask The Good Doctor how he likes the forgiving modern clubs an his thoughts on hitting a Pro V versus The Haskell?

Ask him what he thinks on how bifurcated the game has become and if they should implement a tournament ball.

P.S.  You could also ask him about this!  ;D https://www.golfclubatlas.com/forum/index.php/topic,66548.0.html

Do higher green speeds "sit well" with his design philosophy?
Did he ever meet Old Tom Morris? If so, what happened?

That might be Tom McKenzie’s son, Alastair, who is a Dornoch member and caddied for me once a few years ago.

Ask him if he is a regular "Midsomer Murders" viewer.

Maybe you could get him to sign a sketch along with Tillinghast and OTM?   ;D

Nice. I like to use fake names from Seinfeld when I book tee times:

H.E. Pennypacker
Art Vandalay
Kel Varnsen
Art Corr
Todd Gack

Etc.
Don't play too much golf. Two rounds a day are plenty.

Why do you bring up fake names? It seems most likely that Alastair Mackenzie on the tee sheet is Scottish actor Alastair Mackenzie. I happened to watch the only episode of Midsomer Murders in which he appeared on our local public broadcasting station last Saturday, and noticed the name in the credits, so I googled him finding that episode to be the only one in which he appeared.

I’m kinda hoping his playing partner is the Corr brother none of us were ever looking at!
