No Stakes Allowed

Apparently (as I haven't visited), Olympic (Lake) has no out of bounds or penalty areas marked on the golf course.

Other than Olympic, what other excellent courses have no stakes of any kind?

I wish more courses had no OOB.  Way too harsh for mid and high handicap players.

I can't think of any OB or water at Sand Hills or Ballyneal.
Not sure what you think of as excellent but I can't think of any at Hidden Creek either.

I don't think San Francisco GC and Lake Merced CC have any hazard or OB stakes either, other than the boundary fences for the property.

Is there not a lateral hazard to the left of the lower par 3?

You would have to be far afield but what about 12&13 or tee ball on 18 at SFGC? Think there might be OB there? I don't remember seeing stakes, but I wasn't looking for them either.

Yes, there is a red penalty area right of 13 and possibly 14.  It was marked in 2012 and I’m pretty sure I saw a red stake on TV during Thursday’s coverage.  It is pretty far left, but it is there.

Royal Melbourne has no penalty areas over 36 holes, though it does have boundaries.  Same for Kingston Heath.

Tara Iti has only a tiny wet area in the hollow front right of the 5th green.  We thought about not staking it and just having people play or take a drop, but the environmental overseers preferred it be marked so no one would go down in there.

Wade,

This seems a bit misleading.  If I hook it over the fence on 13, 14, or, 15 did my ball not go OB?  Yes it may be implicit that all boundary fences are OB, but technically its still marked.
