Not only is Barnbougle the best-value top 100 golf on the planet, and the weather in winter is reliably good, I can confirm from my three previous winter visits that they allow you to wear

FASHIONABLE
STRETCH
DENIM!

And on a cool Tassie day, it really is lovely.

P.S.  That package looks like a great deal, but the $4k flight to get there and back from Salt Lake would certainly hit the wallet.

Don't Utahans like to go to Honolulu? Fly round trip to Honolulu for $500. Fly round trip from there to Melbourne for $1200. Then golf your little heart out.

And the best news is Kalen has years to save up the money. It will be quite some time before Fortress Australia will allow anyone from the outside world to visit. Even Utah!  ;D

Now that my wife and I are empty nesters, I could afford to go now, but with so many other places states-side I've yet to see, going down under is wee bit down the queue.  ;)

P.S.  Don't know about Hawaii, but for whatever reason Utahn's often flock to SoCal to go to Disneyland.  My brother had season passes for years until the pandemic hit and spent a couple weeks there every year.

Never understood the allure of this course. I rarely talk price when trying to decide but yikes. That's outrageous.

Not concerned about playing Shadow Creek but a new benchmark will be looked at by others.

Wont be long before people reminisce about playing Pebble for less than $500....
Let's make GCA grate again!

Nope it's perfect.
So many courses in the world, so many different price points, so many different types of people.
For some in Vegas, 5 hours at Shadow Creek will be the least expensive, and smartest thing they do, and the thing they are most likely to remember ;)

Jeff,

I was also thinking for some of the top notch/exclusive privates, when you factor in (Initiation Fee + Monthly Dues + Assessments) and calculate your per round cost, $1000 might be cheap for them too!   ;)

Digest is pumping the story. They are in cahoots with Shadow Creek. Free advertising, free rounds for raters and the rubes getting comped think they just doubled their earn rate. This little plumb doesn't hurt the golden ticket sales either. A classic Vegas win/win. Sorry rubes.

Good thread, Mike.

There is nothing that compares to Barnbougle.

On the last day of a gof trip in April we were happy to just play 20 on sore feet.  After the round and a bit to eat, we had to play more.  We headed off the the pro shop, handed over $35 and headed off for another 20.  After a couple of beers, we were lured out for another 9.  By this stage the golf was free and we had to get in as much as we could.

In the end, that day we played 49 holes on a top 50 course for a little over US$100.  And no further obligations.

Surely there is nothing in the world that comes close.
