I pre-ordered a copy from one of the local bookstores down here in Charlotte. Although was told that publisher was delayed getting books out to stores so won't have it for a week. Not sure if others will be delayed or if that was just this local one.

It was a sensational day at the Launch Party yesterday. The course was a little over the top but there were smiles all around.

Received my copy this evening.

Looking forward to an entertaining read, although admittedly I skipped forward to the Cobb's Creek portion and wished I had been there when he visited.

A bit disappointed in Amazon - my copy, pre-ordered last October - still isn't here. Tomorrow, I think.

I started reading A Course Called Ireland a few months ago and at about 100 pages in, ordered A Course Called Scotland and read it a week later.

Tom Coyne is a fantastic story teller whose love of all things golf, is quite evident throughout both books.

I pre-ordered few months back thru TGJ and no book yet. Loved both Ireland and Scotland. Scotland took a lot of courage to write.

Tom will be my guest on "Golf School" tomorrow on SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio.
9 am.
Let me know if you have any specific questions for him.
(Besides "when's my book coming?" ;) ;D )

The best part was the B&B owner tracked them down.

Like the basement scene in Pulp Fiction, this is how that conversation goes:

YOU: You know the basement scene in Pulp Fiction?
ME: Yup, we're finished here.
YOU: Yup.

YOU: Hey, you know when Coyne's buddy...
ME: Yup, we're finished here.

Agreed.  To me I couldn't imagine why he included it in the book. Any laddish humour was completely lost in the cold light of print.
Will never read another one of his books.

Finally getting arpund to reading this book.  More mature, good discussions with architects and about architecture. A good read which I recommend. I think the thing to learn about the page 104 episode is that TC is has sworn off alcohol.
Nice mention of the VGA (Veterans Golf Association) headquartered in PInehurst near the Holly Inn   Might be a drop by site for Mashie participants this November

My footnote to this, forgotten thread is that I carry a copy of the book with me when I travel the USA. I ask pros/assistants/managers to write a wee note in the margin near their course's citation, or somewhere blank if the course went unvisited. It's always a pleasant conversation starter (We remember when he was here or It's too bad that he missed this place)

I forgot to take it with me to the Finger Lakes (NY) region this June, so I wrote a few dedications to my own self, instead.
