First time ever, they said. There had been 8 players making 3 birdies on the hole.


Pretty amazing and yes, if you put it in context, it probably saved him 5 or 6 shots versus average so did in fact give him a chance to win.

A good friend of mine used to be in the oil business. Not much of a player (handicap was 15-20 depending upon the time of year). But he got a chance to play Augusta, and birdied 10. Obviously from member's tees and non-tournament conditions, but. . .
