Didn't see the Olympic Club Lake on your list. A great course that is not so difficult it is unplayable from the white tees. After all it only has one fairway bunker.  ::)
I love golf, the fightin irish, and beautiful women depending on the season and availability.

Don't worry too much about the golf kudos and go somewhere other the the stock standard US/UK and Ireland.

Go to Sth Africa or NZ or Tom's pick, play in Morrocco, France, Holland or Argentina, wonderful places and sheds loads more to do other than golf.

If there is a better trip than playing/staying in Paris, I haven't done it, your list is way to Anglo for my tastes.

I appreciate the sentiment and look forward to visiting Continental Europe periodically with the Mrs. when I retire with golf an extremely low priority.    Would likely be an accidental golfer there if it could be worked in the schedule.  I would appreciate hearing your top five recommendations in mainland Europe with perhaps a lesser known surprise or two included.  Perhaps you could start a thread along those lines.

Kindest regards,

Mike

I've only played 33 of your selections, and enjoyed each and every. If it's just one more, I like Pat's suggestion of WBYC of course! If you are to leave the US shores, I think Askernish should absolutly be it. Wild, unspoiled, old fashioned, and a glimpse of golf from the hickory days.

Bogey, in a number of categories, it is hard to beat Montecito, CA.

Bogey,

Sand Valley in Poland would qualify as an excellent place to play in Europe. It’s just a 1.5 hour drive from the beautiful Tri cities area of Gdansk,Gdynia and Sopot. The course is sand based and fully grassed in fescue. It was designed by GCA’s own Tony Ristola; you could beat Tom Doak there!

Yes, as mentioned by Kevin R. above, the Valley Club of Montecito in California is very good, as are the Meadow Club and the Cal Club. All 3 merit consideration for your list.

Golspie because it's so much fun and because you might run into the Tartan Hillbilly there.  Not to mention it's sandwiched between RDGC and Brora.

Come see us at Old Town! Happy to have you as my guest! Based on the list you provided, 1) I can't believe you haven't seen it and 2), you'll love it. It is an easy drive from TN.
