Since we're talking about the forum...anyone else struggling with the search function?  Someone pointed out my Lake Wales for sale post was a duplicate (I didn't respond because it would only ping it to the top again).  Unfortunately the only way I'd know it was a duplicate is if I'd happened to see the first one.  I ran a search of the forum (here, and separately using google) and the January post didn't come up.  Even today using a search for Wales and sorting by recent posts doesn't bring it up.  Did the forums somehow exceed the tech capacity of the search tool?  Or am I doing something wrong?

What does seem to work is using the search and limiting it to Subject, then sorting recent.  This will find mine, but not the other since it said Raynor and I didn't think to search for that.  For what it's worth I guess that's a search and message titling tip in one.

P.s. Having read threads here for years, I found the idea that a like button might lead to majority amplification or everyone here agreeing a little funny. It does seem like an "I vehemently disagree!" button might get some use though.

Paul,
I agree that I get no luck out of the search function many times and would be my first upgrade. Also can't see anyone's posts from the past as there are many here who have wonderful history of insightful and time deserving prose worth our time.

No "like" button. Ever. Like many here, I read more posts than I comment on. Does it matter if I "like" them? I like reading comments from this obsessive group. Some have a lot to say, many like the flow and unique information that is really only available here. But the posts define the thread. Some go on for page after page, some have short lives. If you're reading this, great. comment when you are impacted.
I do think the search function could be better!
So much golf to play, so little time....

Absolutely can’t stand the idea of adding a like button.

As Niall said above, GolfClubAtlas is a discussion group. The site is well established and doesn’t need to adopt one of the worst features that exists elsewhere on the Internet.

Over the years I have learned that writing above golf architecture isn’t that easy, but that should be the focus. When done well, that is what makes GolfClubAtlas special.

Okay everyone, I completely and fully retract, unreservedly. Think John Cleese's Archie in Fish Called Wanda being held upside down out a window by Kevin Kline's Otto:

Archie: All right, all right, I apologize.
Otto: You're really sorry?
Archie: I'm really really sorry. I apologize unreservedly.
Otto: You take it back?
Archie: I do, I offer a complete and utter retraction. The imputation was totally without basis in fact, and was in no way fair comment, and was motivated purely by malice, and I deeply regret any distress that my comments may have caused you -- or your families -- and I hereby undertake not to repeat any such slander at any time in the future.

I’m of the belief that we should definitely bifurcate the DG.
It’s way past time that architectural discourse wasn’t lost amongst the inane tittle-tattle that goes on here.
Yours, an inveterate tittle-tattler,
