Thanks to Anthony Pioppi on Twitter for this one.  Lake Wales Country Club in Florida is up for Auction. Long advertised by the club itself as a Ross, but per a few sources and as I learned here, really a Raynor.

Posting so we can all dream the dream together where we start a GCA go fund me, buy it, and restore it.  Think about the annual GCA get togethers. Constant mashie location.   A firm, fast, accessible Raynor.  And hey if GCA is ready for a corporate headquarters with a moat I hear they’re in style down in FL right now.

Links below to the auction and some older LWCC threads. Pretty clear the auction company didn’t hire Links Gems for the course photos.  The ball washer pic is truly questionable.  But for anyone like me who enjoyed a round and a grouper sandwich there (and thanks to my Grandpa I had many) it’s a fun dream.  - PJ

Worth noting, the neighboring golf course Oakwood Golf Club (which holds no info regarding its level of GCA significance, assuming it's zero) is also up for auction.  They share a property line, making the dream of restoring a Raynor and creating something new from scratch and opening a GCA dream spot just a fence demolition away!

Located one hour from both Orlando and Tampa (and just 45 minutes from Streamsong) this has the makings of a Golden Age destination that doesn't exist at this point.

PJ, I'm in (although I'm also your brother so I was always an easy sell)!

I think in another thread someone down there said there would be ~10mil needed just for deferred maintenance plus the cost for the renovation.  It sounds like a money pit with low ROI potential.

I'm in too, but would rather be further south.  Jupiter or south is so much better. Lets talk how much .
