Walker Cup - Seminole
« on: February 09, 2021, 11:09:22 AM »
Any word if spectators will be allowed at the Walker Cup? Can't find anything on the USGA site.

I've had this penciled in my calendar for years. Gonna suck if this gets cancelled too

Ryan,

As of the beginning of January, the USGA was still deciding whether spectators will be allowed. You can email tickets@usga.org and ask to be put on the email list to be notified when tickets are available. I would hope they don't cancel the Walker Cup itself, and given FL just held the Super Bowl, I would think having some spectators on site would be possible.

David...Pat was being snarky-funny, like I often do. He knows that it exists there, but the jack@$$ governor (#SuperBowl) and others fail to act.

Ryan:.

I also have had this penciled in.  I have not gone out of my way to get vaccinated but as of 2/25 I am eligible in Illinois. Being eligible v. having an appointment are two different things.

The bottom line is the 2 mRNA vaccines offer excellent protection after ten days of the first shot.  All the data shows this.  And there is a lot of vaccine reluctance in my neck of the woods.  They have to get shots in arms.

IIRC, the Walker Cup is in May.  I put my info in with the USGA and am cautiously optimistic that Seminole may be a go.

Maybe they will let me use the pool.

They have a pool...and a pond.  The pond would probably be good for you (Chevy Chase, spoken to Bill Murray, "Caddyshack").
