What's the best 3 hole stretch at Pac Dunes?
« on: January 19, 2021, 05:20:15 PM »
Simple question.  What's the best 3 hole stretch at Pac Dunes?
Ask not what GolfClubAtlas can do for you; ask what you can do for GolfClubAtlas.

I like that 11 to 13 run as you get a 3, a 5 and a 4.  But they are all running in the same direction.

6 to 8 gives you a nice variety of very different par 4's.

I also really like the 16 to 18 close, as well as 2 to 4 or 3 to 5.

My answer is that this isn't really a simple question.

I asked it because I thought it really wasn't a simple question.

To me, and you might tell me I am wrong, its hard to find the 3rd hole to go with 2 others.

Although, you have included 5 and 18 as candidates which i never would have considered so maybe I am wrong.

Not wrong, just a different opinion.

I wouldn't have a stretch that included 1, 9 or 15.

dithering between 3-4-5 and 16-17-18, slight edge to 3/4/5.  Both run the gamut on pars.

What Mr. Kirk said!

I’m torn between 2-3-4 and 6-7-8. I guess I’ll agree with JK for once.

If it makes you feel better, I like the 6-7-8 trio next best.  It's a close call.  I would characterize #8 as underrated.  After that, I'd probably choose 11-12-13.

Lots of good options.

2-4, 6-8, 11-13, 16-18 are all great options IMO.

I think its gotta be 6-8 as 6 and 7 are both in the top 5 holes on the course....can't say the same thing about 2 and 3.

1,2,7.  Strategically different par 4s and means you’ve probably already played 36 and are just waiting for the rest of your group to finish the 18th so you can have drinks at the PunchBowl.

6-7-8 for me, but it is splitting hairs.  I also think the combination of 2-3-4 and 5-6-7 are terrific for different reasons.  Love 16-17-18 on the inward nine.

Probably my second choice, but I prefer 16,17,18
