A few of us had the pleasure of playing Seaview Bay again yesterday.

It is definitely one of those courses you could never tire of playing and which grows more interesting with each go-round.

A great course for us pea-shooters!  :)

Great thread Mike.  Hoping to play it soon.

Here are a few old pictures from the Noer/Milorganite Image Collection housed in the MSU Turfgrass Archives.

This is a great read from the first post forward. The three way conversation between Mike Cirba, Tom Paul and George Bahto gives a ton of insight not only into Seaview but Merion and Cobbs Creek as well and Professor Bausch also provides plenty of archival info. Tom Paul’s insights into the social stratums as they related to golf clubs/golf courses added another dimension to the commentary. A lot of work went into this thread. Thanks to Bret for the recent pictures and keep them coming!!!!

Bret,

Those photos of the mounds on #1 are stupendous, thanks.  I suspect the Gordon's removed them later in the 1950s.

Tim,

Really glad you enjoyed the resurrection of this thread, thanks.
