As of this morning we have 26 confirmed attendees and a couple of possible maybes.
Clearly the reduced number of travelers from the States throws the traditional trans-Atlantic contest out of kilter somewhat, but a detailed analysis of the confirmed attendees reveals a 13-13 split between those I suspect of hailing from England and those definitely from "Elsewhere".
Can an assorted rabble of Scots and Yanks take on the might of the English? We shall see.
The teams are;
England
Robin Hiseman
Mark Pearce
James Boon
Giles Payne
Conrad Gamble
Adam Uttley
James Reader
Nick Norton
Michael Graham
Paul Graham
Duncan Cheslett
Jayne Cheslett
Tony Muldoon* Yes, I know he's Irish but he sounds English and I've got to balance the numbers somehow!
Elsewhere
Mike Whitaker
Enno Gerdes
Sean Arble
Jack Branyan
Jack Weiner
Mike Malone
Ward Peyronnin
Bill Rogers
Jerry Kluger
Niall Carlton
Ken Moodie
Marty Bonnar
Nancy Bonnar
The format will be as follows;
Sunday 5th (Cavendish) - 36 holes 4-ball Better Ball matchplay with light lunch.
Sunday 5th Evening (Cavendish) - Dinner
Monday 6th (Reddish Vale) - 36 holes Foursomes or Greensomes matchplay (TBC) with light lunch.
Tuesday 7th (Cavendish) - 18 holes Individual matchplay with light lunch.
In addition there is the option of playing Cavendish on Saturday afternoon on the original MacKenzie routing which was changed shortly after the course was opened.
I am now looking for volunteers/suggestions for team captains.
