Pretty stand up post by ZB. When does anyone have to apologize for having a dream? Also taking responsibility for mistakes he has made along the way, how can anyone not pull for someone who is humbly moving forward.
Big props ZB, hope it happens. Happy to come play TBC when it gets off the ground.

BTW look into the Sand Valley model with "founders", just a thought.

Hey everyone hope all is well on the interweb

I don’t get on much so I at least wanted to shed some light on the project in SC.

Yes I made the decision to go in a different direction from king Collins regarding this project. Untimely I didn’t feel like they were the perfect fit for this specific job.

And as for an update regarding the future of the project we intend to assemble a group of very talented experienced people to help execute my vision.

The only thing I’ve ever wanted to do was make a very cool place for people that love golf to be able to enjoy. I have absolutely made some mistakes along the way in regards to comparing it to places etc.
And there are probably other things that I didn’t handle it the correct way but I would like everybody to understand that it was never trying to be cocky or acting like I knew more than other people or acting like I would be able to accomplish my dream without the help of others that are a lot more experienced than myself.

Also in regards to the brand that the buck club has become it ultimately started by making some products hats shirts Headcovers etc. for me and my friends and ultimately people kept asking about it people kept wanting to know where they could get it so we decided that it would be really cool to make some cool gear for people that wanted to support the vision.

It’s been amazing to see what is a Buck Club has become and how much support there has been from all over the world and even though there are some serious detractors and haters that don’t understand it there is also a massive group of people that it’s pulled together with a common love for golf.

And like I’ve mentioned before I am the one out here publicly trying to pursue my dream and build this amazing place so I am able to handle all the criticism that that comes with even if I don’t agree with all of it sometimes.

It’s very easy to make fun of someone out there trying to do some thing like this.
Especially when A big majority of people don’t really know the inns and outs of the project for many of the details.

I am more than happy to discuss the project or my vision/dream with anyone that ever wants to know more or find things out.

And I just wanted to come on here and drop this in to this thread to at least let people know that I feel very confident that we have a really cool site where we can build a really great golf course and that I’m not out here thinking that I know more than people and just trying to go out and do this on my own.

And again like I mentioned above if anyone ever would like to discuss or no more than just some random claims on Twitter or the Internet I would be more than happy to take a call.

Also I don’t think my shoulder is jeopardizing my career going forward I’m scheduled for surgery November 18 I am looking forward to a full recovery and getting back out and competing on the PGA tour in 2021.

Cheers

Zb

Congrats. Never let a great post sit at the bottom of the first page.

I only wish you the best. Good luck with the project. It sure seems that you are putting a lot of thought and effort to make it a special club.

I'm glad Zac came back and said his piece. The snark and sarcasm he faced (and still faces) when he first came to GCA to explain his vision was embarrassing and went a long way to dimming my participation on this site. These are the things we should be excited about and supportive of, even if they are hard, or wind up taking years, or never happen at all. So much of this industry is clouded behind walls, behind big money or big government — how refreshing to have a genuine architecture fan like Zac spearheading every inch of his project and putting it all out there for everyone to see and experience, hiccups and all.

Thanks for coming back and providing an update, Zac. I've followed TBC closely from the sidelines since the beginning and I'm truly wishing you all the best success. And if things don't work out perfectly, thank you for at least giving us a glimpse into the process.

As my grampa used to say - If it was easy, then everyone would be doing it and it probably wouldn't be worth doing.

I hope this turns into a massive success for ZB (however he measures success, as opposed to how it is measured by his critics or anyone else for that matter).

I believe Zac has suffered an injury that may curtail his professional golfing career. As he is one of only a couple of reasons I follow the Tour on a weekly basis I wish for him the quickest recovery. The Buck Club has only been a dumpster fire for the exact demographic it was envisioned. I'm sure Zac has learned many lessons as he watched his "friends and admirers" turn against him. I hope he completes his dream and turns away every back stabbing snowflake at the gate.

I haven't followed the drama. What's the controversy? That it's a "men only" club or something?

David,

This is just one of many threads over at a site where people post under fake names but were what I thought was Zac's intended demographic. There seems to be no end to the Buck Club hate. Makes me love the place more with each day.

All Red with Red White and Blue Stars and TBC logos -- maybe a Fourth of July release? Definitely gave him some cred at Sand Valley

Wow! That thread automatically closed upon hitting 10,000 posts back in August. I had no idea TBC was such a lightning rod for conversation and vitriol. While I feel bad for Zac, he's kinda brought this on himself by overpromising and underdelivering on the project thus far.

Zac retained his tour card all the while producing sick merch and having a baby during a global pandemic. The man like few others truly inspires me. It would be irresponsible to break ground at this point in his and the golf world’s life.

I’ll admit that 12 months ago I was questioning his priorities. He has proven me wrong time and again. The guy is a juggernaut. Gross!!!

Beautiful. I’m having trouble deciding on a new mallet cover for myself. It all looks great.

The Refuge is going behind a paywall at midnight on Dec 31st. It’s quite entertaining watching the slackers having a meltdown as the hour approaches. Tune in if for nothing else than the wrestling memes.
