Epsom Golf Club in Surrey. Not the RAC but Epsom...a downland course on common land, all on chalk, next to the racecourse. It is a course with the most natural (some crazy)greens, just extensions of fairways, It's wonderful. If you can chip and putt at Epsom you can chip and putt anywhere, I kid you not.[/size]

So when are you going to do the damn photo tour you've been promising?</blockquote>

Will do really soon, I promise

Played this for the first time on Friday and Sam is so right in his assessment.
Unfortunately I can't chip or putt, but this this didn't stop me having a blast at this lovely course. I can't think of many courses where being on the right side of the greens is more important as the greens are wonderfully undulating and sloping. Thankfully the recent rain reduced the pain. On one hand I look forward to returning to the club in the summer, on the other I dread the thought of those greens being firm and fast.
One of my group related that in a competition the winner of the nearest to the pin on the short 17th took a six. Putted off the green twice.
The course isn't long, has too many trees in places, but takes a lot of thinking around. If in the area it's well worth a visit. £35 or £25 for a guest.
Sam, please post photos if you've still got them. I will definately take some photos next time round.

I have never been out on the course but it is a beautiful location, up on the Downs.

Yes, it's a fun track. Some of the most severely cambered greens you will ever putt on.

As the quote from me highlighted by Richard in the OP suggests, I really enjoyed Epsom. It's mad, but in a good way. I think it needs an Arble tour, it is the sort of place that Sean would love.
