18 at Wine Valley, where Kalen met his first GRUDGE MATCH demise.

Learning that 18 at Gamble Sands lets short knockers get home in two explains why he has been lobbying for a rematch there.

Connemara has a very fun downhill tee shot on the 18th, and then an elevated green at the other end of the par 5.

Well first and second choices went quick with Jeff picking Kapalua Plantation and Tim picking Essex CC. Kapalua is probably more fun as you can just blast and see how far the longest drive of your life goes with a beautiful 2nd.
Essex was tough for my one and only play as our caddies gave us a line, but with the zigzagging couldn't picture the hole. More strategic. Very tough approach as well. Here is a gorgeous drone video for the 2020 Massachusetts Womens Amateur, not sure they even played it.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvatAZZU5oE

Carne 18.  Is there another par 5 with such wild topography on the approach?

Tom, my memory is getter older just like me!  Time to head back to RCCC to remember!!!

Just talked to JF who was just there.  Back tee is elevated but hole is flat.

For someone from very flat Houston, that is downhill!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

Bigwin Island is a noteworthy one here in Ontario. Tee shot off a high point with the clubhouse and Lake of Bays behind.

I think Royal Hague would qualify as a great downhill 18th.

I’ve always liked Hollinwell’s 18th.  Looking forward to seeing it again next week.

Kapalua - BK hit one of his very few 300 yard drives and a soft draw 3 metal to the fringe in 2......made par.  The mai tai's,  dinner on the clubhouse veranda @ sunset with Mrs. K were spectacular.

Ira Fishman - not an over rated hole; but that's BK's $0.02.

I’ve enjoyed the 18th at Royal Porthcawl, with the opportunity to land an approach shot short with a chance to hold a green which slopes front to back, all supplemented by a Bristol Channel backdrop.

The last half of 18 at Piping Rock is quite uphill.

Sean's favorite, Kington - downhill and sidehill.

Also Pitlochry.

Besides Stonewall, my best one might have been at the long-gone Bay of Dreams.

I will be at Kington today!  To date, I have not seen a more fun downhill 18th than Kington's.
