Kohler Co. opening new golf course in 2021 - The Baths of Blackwolf Run

Kohler Co., the Wisconsin-based manufacturing, real estate and hospitality company, is planning to open a new golf course next year in Kohler in Sheboygan County.
Located on 27 acres between the first and 11th holes of the Meadow Valleys course at Kohler's at Blackwolf Run golf course, The Baths of Blackwolf Run is named for Kohler's history in designing bathroom appliances.
The Baths of Blackwolf Run course was designed by Chris Lutzke, also the project architect, and Herb Kohler, Kohler Co.'s executive chairman. The new par 3 course has 10 holes, ranging from 60 to 160 yards, and allows for three, six, or 12-hole experiences. It has four water features and a 2-acre putting course, food and beverage service, and special event capability.Read more:

What I most enjoy about the resort par 3 courses is their use of the ground game, unless the water features are waterfalls behind the greens I will not get excited until I know more.

At first I was irritated by the news release feeling the need to explain the name of the course. Kohler - Baths, we get it. Then on doing some personal research wondering what other names they may have chosen I came upon this little jewel.

No -- the course that I commented on is proposed for a lakefront stretch south of Sheboygan, abutting the Kohler-Andrae State Park, and thus raising concerns among some environmental groups in Wisconsin. One issue central to the debate over the course -- a legal dispute about annexation -- was unanimously settled earlier this year by the state Supreme Court in the favor of Kohler and his proposed course. But there is still -- at least to my knowledge -- a legal dispute pending before the state DNR regarding some wetlands "trade-offs" between Kohler and the adjacent state park.
