Very cool and never knew this existed. The Frye Island 9 hole course certainly didn't cut down too many trees and carved out of the forest.

Maine is a state I haven’t been to yet.  Have a feeling the golf there is sneaky good.  We’re any of these courses in Anthony Pioppi’s books?  I can’t remember...paging AP.

I've played Kebo Valley and the Causeway but never even heard of the other courses on the islands. They look like an adventure and one I'd like to do when I get up there again.

Played Kebo 2 years ago.  Had the course to myself due to a rain storm.  I'm trying to post pictures of #17 where President Taft scored a 27.

I've played three that they mentioned
North Haven-well worth the ferry ride-9 holes
Kebo Valley-one of three of Leeds excellent US courses-maybe #3 but excellent(Myopia, Palmetto pretty tough company)
Northeast harbour-as they describe


Left out Grindstone Neck and Blink Bonnie two cool waterside 9 holers near Bar Harbor


Lots of cool nine holers up there-good reason to go back

Not quite on an island, and not quite in Maine (but only a few hundred yards away) is the Algonquin in St-Andrews-by-the-Sea, New Brunswick which is right on the border.  It recently had a well received renovation by Rod Whitman and is supposed to be a Ross.


But likely isn't open to Americans this year.

Jeff-I forgot they were having the Senior Open there last week. The winner Jim Becker has won his share of events over the years including a couple of Connecticut Opens.
