Change The Name: Contest to rename Midpines, Southern Pines, Pine Needles

3. Peter Flory and his comment on too many pines.

For fun, rename Southern Pines, Midpines, and Pine Needles, based on the playing characteristics of each course. You may not use the word "Pine" nor its plural nor its derivatives, in your choices. I have a few prizes that I will send to the winners. I will create an anonymous voting form that I will post in 10 days. Thanks for participating and good luck to all.

The real problem is the use of "Southern" in the name. The movement finds that problematic.

Southern is neither racist nor misogynistic. Southern may be utilized.

Through our Pinehurst trips, we always changed the names of the other courses to involve “Pines.”


Like:


Woodpecker Pines for Forest Creek
Llama Pines for Talamore
Horse Pines for Longleaf
Tobacco Pines for TRoad
Dormie Pines...etc...
