There are two here in the Greensboro area - Donald Steel did one at Greensboro Country Club's Farm Course - Hole 13 is a par 5 with biarritz green.  Also, Davis Love Golf Design's renovation at Forest Oaks included a par 5 (if I recall, it is the 2d hold).  Paul Cowley was on site for that  project.  By the way, Forest Oaks now allows outside play.

Troy Miller

Redan makes for a great short par 4 and perhaps gives the "full effect" for a set of players that largely don't get it on a Par 3 where trajectory is much different in the modern game.  A case can be made for Short as a 'Drive and Pitch' style hole or to create a true three-shot holes - 7 at Pine Valley comes to mind.
