The Cowardly Lion at Cobb's Creek, Oh My! New
« on: June 05, 2020, 01:39:27 PM »
I've spent a lot of time exploring the wooded terrain of Cobb's Creek Golf Course and indeed it's difficult sometimes to believe you're in the City of Philadelphia.   In some ways, you never know what might jump out at you from the wilds but this one likely takes the cake.

My buddy researcher extraordinaire Joseph W Bausch has uncovered some truly great vintage golf history gems over the years but I came across this one today in his collection that even he didn't realize the relevance of.

Who knew the "Cowardly Lion" (playing with another famous Vaudevillian of the time) played golf at Cobb's Creek in 1928??
