Twenty-five miles outside of Philadelphia there’s little township called West Norriton, and on the north side of town there’s a municipal course designed by Donald Ross. The course, Jeffersonville Golf Club, dates to 1931. It’s quintessential Ross, with a routing that maxes out its tiny parcel of land and greens that make you work for every putt. The essence of Ross’ original design remain; it’s a second-shot course with more than a few blind approaches. The greens are pushed up, sloping and quirky — old-school, really. The whole place exudes a bit of an old-school vibe. In a good way.

A good measure of quality is the difficulty of choosing a favorite hole from many good options.Having said that I rank #13 first.

13 is very good (as are many holes as Mayday stated).   I'm an 11 guy.

J-Ville is the place that stoked my interest in course design all those years ago.  I started wondering why I enjoyed playing here so much over other courses, started doing some research and off I went.  Have loved to watch the place change and improve through the years and am glad it's getting more acclaim nowadays.

Among the par3s. the down hill 15 over a creek begins an interesting set of closing holes:

I wouldn’t call this hole downhill.  If anything, it is a bit uphill!

Tough, tough, tough starting hole but very satisfying to walk off with four to begin your round.

How about downhill and then uphill ?  Then it appears level from the tee to the green.
