I've walked up to the original tee. The visual might be better, really, because it's a bit downhill. You can see the green a lot better. And the front-left lobe of the green extends straight towards you, whereas from the lower tee the angle is a bit more across. But the sights and sounds you experience on the lower tee definitely outweigh any slight aesthetic difference between the two tee locations. If I had to split 10 rounds between the two tees...I would be very happy to play 10 rounds at Cypress Point. :)  (But I would probably play 8 lower and 2 upper.) I think playing 15 from the upper tee to a pin on that front lobe, about 110 yards, would be a lot of fun—especially with some wind! It would be similar to 7 at Pebble, though not as much downhill, but in a similar direction.

Another photo of the 11th..

P.S. The way Dr. MacK used that dune behind 11 with several other holes is nothing short of genius..

Its actually pretty well short of genius.  What he did on the other side of that hill, on the other hand, is genius.
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

11 isnt a particularly interesting or noteworthy hole, regardless of whether there is a sand dune behind the green that has no effect on the strategy of the hole.
