I've heard good things about the Titleist Linkmaster Caddie bag.

Given your history in the game I bet you could get your hands on some cool flags.

Archie-I like the TaylorMade Flex Tech 2017 single strap model with kickstand. If you go on EBay you will find some new ones.

I've had good luck with Sun Mountain 2.5 and 3.5.  The 3.5 has some straps to restrain the kickstand, which is useful for travel and use on a push cart.

I had bad luck with the Titleist carry bags and them not lasting well. I've had a Jones for the past two seasons and it appears to be holding up fine.

Without stand: 2020 ping moonlite

With stand: SM 2.5, ping l8 e2

Highly recommend all of them.

Favourite and lightest bag (with legs) I have come across in years. I am a bit anal about weight, but I insist on having my bag off the mucky floor  8)

Not properly tested.  Good pockets, but not as good as the Callaway.

Both are single strap bags, which for some reason are more difficult to find than double strap.

How lightweight are we talking here with various options mentioned?   I bought a Sun Mountain a few years back and it still feels much heavier than I would like, and I don't stuff much in it.

Archie, I'm partial to the Ping "Hoofer" which we used as change bags at Pebble.

The Callaway bag in Sean's photo is listed at 2.5 pounds.  The Sun Mountain 2.5+ is listed at 2.8 pounds.  Doesn't get much lighter than that with a stand and double strap.  I think in most cases carry weight is a overwhelmingly a function of your shafts and the miscellaneous stuff in the bag, not the bag itself.  Assuming you're carrying the full 14.  Although I hear steel shafts are getting lighter now.

I second this. Got a 2.5 for my daughter when she had to carry, and the thing is really well made. And so light.

Check out the Vessel bag. Made of recycled plastic it looks like leather, stand up legs and a single strap. I bought one for the wife, who carries, but she didn’t like the single strap; she’s a double strap girl. My best golf buddy bought one and loves it. They also donate a backpack to a needy child for every bag purchased.

So far so good for me with my Titleist Staydry.

Its holding up well and has the best strap system I've had.  Bag comes with a single strap and a double strap that you clip on and off easily.

3.8 lbs.

Only complaint is the pockets while large are hard to see down into.

I know they have become a punching bag of sorts on Twitter/Instagram, but I've used a MacKenzie bag now for probably 10 years and I can't imagine using another bag. They are really great bags. Light, easy to carry, and they last a long time.

I've never been on Instagram but Josh Bills did a painting of one of my MacKenzies. They have become ironic tributes to douche culture.

For years I have used Sun Mountain with good results (3.5 and 2.5).  Last week, I told my pro I wanted the lightest bag he had and got the new Callaway Hyper Lite Zero.  Double strap stand bag and only 2.5 pounds.  It is lighter than my old SM 2.5.

Do caddies typically switch out Mackenzie bags for a bag with a stand? That would get annoying knowing you spent $1000 on a bag and they dont even want to use it.

Cal - I don't have a Mackenzie, but I carry a light non stand bag (Jones Players).  I've not had a caddy swap it out in two years of using it and generally speaking I've found they appreciate how light it is.  Not saying some don't get a bit annoyed at first without a stand, but I've not had a swap out (across resort and private play)

I second Grumpy's nod toward FlagBag. I have shipped them my five flags, and await my own, personalized bag. I can't think of a better lightweight bag to have.
