Does anyone have a sense of what month in 2020 the Sheep Ranch will be open for regular play?

I know it will be open by July, but have no clue about an opening date or month.

Where did anyone say no bunkers?

From the Golf Advisor article that Howard linked to:

What will never be on the Sheep Ranch are bunkers. NO BUNKERS. “Ben and I talked about it a long time ago,” says Coore. “Robert Hunter, in his book called The Links, back in the 1920s, said there would one day be a site with such interesting undulations, sand bunkers wouldn’t be necessary.”

The previous version of The Sheep Ranch only had a couple of bunkers.

It's not sandy underneath, and we didn't have irrigation to help hold the sand in place against the wind, so we decided not to have much sand at all.  We only built the bunkers we did to see if they would hold up . . . which they did not.  So I'm not surprised to hear that Bill and Ben have opted not to have any.

Of course that wasn't the most unique thing about The Sheep Ranch "before", so nobody paid much attention to it.

Tom,

The only one I can recall was the cool all carry bunker cut into the hillside of the uphill approach to the green nearest the gravel parking lot.

I hit my two best shots of the week to carry it as the finale to a dream west coast trip as the sun began to set over the Pacific and  it is a vivid memory that will be always with me.  As I recall, you walked the hole in with our group

Thank you.

Played 9 preview holes on Saturday. Very tame conditions - wind was 2-3mph max. Never seen it so calm in the afternoon.  It will be a very fun, challenging course to play when it firms up.  Only a few bunkers left over from the old layout but they are not in play.

beautiful site and 5 mile point will make a great 16th hole and great tee shot for 17 as it was in Sheep Ranch 1.0

I wonder if Sheep Ranch will still open on June 1. Anyone booked for opening day?
