This course has been mentioned on here, but I haven't played it.  i.e. there is public access.

I was going to guess Chiberta (having never been there) but somehow suspect it isn’t.


If that main ridge rolls directly on to the green at the left ala Elie 4th, then it looks like a really cool approach, flirting with the boundary to get a kick in at grade level. Again, somehow I suspect it doesn’t.

It's a fairly interesting hole but not that cool. You need to drive towards the Sea to obtain a look down the still elevated green. I bet the hole plays mostly in a cross wind, which you'd be fighting on both shots. Probably the most elevation on the course.

It was taken several years ago on a beautiful warm day in January. (i.e. off my usual tracks - you are correct, not Chiberta).

I reckon the big clue is in Tony saying it's where people 'can't' have been.


It's got to be Cuba and therefore Varadero. Probably the 18th hole.

We broke up our visit between the magical Cuban Cities of Trinidad and Havana,with a few beach days on the peninsula at Varadero (wall to wall Spanish operated resort hotels). We walked a couple of hours along the beach to the Golf Course.
Originally 9 holes by Herbert Strong (clue above missed), it’s possible that is the old first green played in reverse today. It's been several years, but from the photo it looks like a Redan. Did he build any?
 
 

 
 Built for a DuPont who was an early tourist for the louche side of life.
To early in the day for a Mohito, the bar at the top of the tile clad tower is worth the trip.
Built as a pleasure palace and he invited lucky friends to join him. 


 
The modern course did not look that interesting from the road.
