Congrats Robin
We broke up our visit between the magical Cuban Cities of Trinidad and Havana, with a few beach days on the peninsula at Varadero (wall to wall Spanish operated resort hotels). We walked a couple of hours along the beach to the Golf Course.
Originally 9 holes by Herbert Strong (clue above missed), it’s possible that is the old first green played in reverse today. It's been several years, but from the photo it looks like a Redan. Did he build any?
Built for a DuPont who was an early tourist for the louche side of life.
To early in the day for a Mohito, the bar at the top of the tile clad tower is worth the trip.
Built as a pleasure palace and he invited lucky friends to join him.
The modern course did not look that interesting from the road.
