Maybe Ian Poulter.
Against Brandel Chamblee.

That gets my vote.
Then Suzy Whaley vs. Ted Bishop.

I wonder what a network would be willing to pay right now for a live Shell type event?  Many warm weather courses are still open, and the public is starved for live sporting events.  A golf event without a crowd, and just two golfers may well offer the social distancing needed for the players, caddies and crew.  Surely someone has thought of this.

What about that troll poster banned last year by Ran, named Nick (forget his last name) vs. the other fictional character who was also banned the same day? Play it at Trolling Golf Club.

Nick Ribiero? He started that thread about Bethpage Black that got a lot of discussion...

for me the show was always more about the venue

the Tiger Phil thing at Shadow Creek was about the players

I'd rather have it be about the course yet would love a Trevino Nicklaus gig even today, they know what its all about

cheers

It's all about the golf!

Why not Jordan vs. Isiah Thomas...... remember the freeze out All-Star game Thomas supposedly engineered? Michael would love to have some payback in anything and everything.  Play it wherever Thomas wanted, he is from Chicago and went to St. Josephs playing for Coach Ping.

Good points but I went for both being golf junkies and both growing up in North Carolina.

I'm surprised so many here would actually want to see celebs/pros from other sports play golf.  I mean at least Bill Murray provides some comedic relief, but good gawd whats the appeal otherwise?

Perhaps TMZ needs to sponsor an event and send their reporters out to get fanboy reactions, fawning, and gossipy stories.

An appropriate time to think of Seve as today would have been his 63rd birthday. RIP.

I'd love to see a revival of SWWOG in the modern age. I'd Imagine the best platform for something like this would be through the PGA Tour's relationship with Skratch TV on Youtube. The show could be hosted by Erik Anders Lang and Geoff Ogilvy and done in much of the same style EAL is currently producing his videos. If done my dream 1st season would look something like this:

Lahinch Old - Rory Mcilroy vs. Ricky Fowler
Lahinch, Ireland

Sewanee / Sweetens Cove - Zac Blair v. Brandt Snedeker
Sewanee / South Pittsburg, Tennessee

The Jockey Club - Angel Cabrera v. Jim Furyk
Buenos Aries, Argentina

Diamante Dunes - Abraham Ancer v. Patrick Reed
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Lawsonia Links - Steve Stricker v. Jerry Kelly
Green Lake, Wisconsin

St. Georges Golf & Country Club - Adam Hadwin v. Kevin Kisner
Toronto, Canada

Kingston Heath - Cameron Smith v. Ian Poulter
Cheltenham, Australia

South Cape Owners Club - Im Sung-jae v. Brooks Koepka
Namhae-gun, South Korea

The Sheep Ranch - Fred Couples v. Davis Love III
Bandon, Oregon

Golf de Morfontaine - Martin Kaymer v. Justin Thomas
Mortefontaine, France

This season would provide a good mix of young and old, both courses and players, while having a broad international feel, drawing in viewers from across the world.
