A lot of the guesses were wildly wrong: look at David Davis's post - he knew what the top 10 were, has played all ten, and assumed they were par 72!
you really like to point out how people, of all types are "wrong", we know that
I think the point may have been that a par of 72 at all courses could lead to being able to compare scores across the world or at least regionally
of course one course is not the same as another, and that is the emphasis of great golf, it is not bowling LOL
additionally, par does not matter in match play, so who cares really about par?
of course, the next fact check you might post would be "how many top 10 courses are 18 holes"?
