OT: Standards for golf groups
« on: April 07, 2020, 10:11:35 AM »
I am curious about this, as I see more and more group play in groups larger than the traditional foursome.

Q1:  If you belong to a private club, does your club limit the number of players in a group (and if so, what is the limit?...4?...5?...more?)

Q2:  If your club allows groups of more than 4, are there starting time restrictions on when this is permitted?

Q3:  What is your opinion of exceeding the traditional 4 players in a group standard?

We are only allowed to play 7 everyday except Fri and Sat.

We prefer 6, enjoy 5 and tolerate 4.

We show up at 7:30 every morning and let anyone who doesn’t wish to play with us out first. It is strictly a Wolf game. On busy days we have more than one group.

People who don’t like us or the game don’t tee off until 9.

John,

How long does it take your preferred group size (6) to play 18 at VN?

This is a course in Florida. I rarely play 5 at Vic.

We play 5 with starter/pro shop permission. Usually play in 3:45 to 3:50, which is about 20 minutes more than normal. We te off around 9 a.m..
