I think a few visited when a group of us visited Fife in May.  I'm sure Adam Lawrence has.  I have driven past many times (it's very close to Elie) but haven't been in.  I might play at the Scottish Golf Union rate but wouldn't pay £235, that's obscene.
In June I will be riding the first three stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity.  630km (394 miles) in three days, with 7800m (25,600 feet) of climbing for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

Couple of random thoughts

Amazing that a land settled and populated 1000+ years ago in a small country could even have 345 acres of contiguous seaside property avaiable-so near population centers.

Seems all new projects have to be bold and shiny(who can blame the developer) to justify the expense(see above) and effort.
While I enjoyed my day at Kingsbarns years ago and appreciate and respect the work, effort and expense that went into it,I've never been back. I know it is successful and on most American's bucket list when visiting so kudos to them. I get a bit nervous when the marketing buzz highlights the elevated tees and views of the Forth from 14 holes, with limited buzz about the quality of the holes and land themselves. (I hope to be wrong-again)

This project in many way reminds me of Kingsbarns and does make Fife a true one stop shopping area for players of all tastes with multiple bucket list courses and many, maany gems hidden in plain sight.

Could do a lot worse than Dumbarnie, Kingsbarns, Castle, TOC,(in the high budget glitzy arena) sprinkled with- New Course, Elie, Lundin,Leven, Crail, etc. without ever leaving Fife.

They’re doing a 60% off deal for Fife residents, so we might give it a spin next year. Although, as Jeff says there’s a wealth of courses near it in the East Neuk, without even starting to look further afield - even just in the rest of Fife! Aberdour, Kinghorn, Scotscraig, Pitreavie all worth a visit.

I've seen it twice. The slope of the ground means that you can see the water from just about everywhere, but the actual area of natural dunes by the coast is SSSI and they deliberately didn't go into it to make planning easier.

Emphatically a built course, not a found one. My instincts told me it was over shaped, but I will reserve final judgement until I see it in play. A number of other writers have seen it since and come away very impressed.

Here is some information concerning the course which I thought was quite interesting.

Couple of interesting facts - they moved 500,000 cubic yards of dirt to create 600 dunes.
30 investors put up $290,000 each and there are no overnight accommodations and a very modest clubhouse.
Greens fees are going to be $300.

Thanks for sharing Jerry!

I feel for any business trying to open at the moment. As soon as we're allowed to golf again, I'd love to go check it out. I believe they are offering reduced greens fees for Scottish residents, and residents of Fife as well.
