Golfs current busy agenda. A blip or something more?
« on: February 19, 2020, 04:37:33 PM »
Seems like there’s quite a bit more than just the usual issues on golfs agenda at the moment. Ones that come to mind include, but as legal folks are fond of saying, “are not limited too” -
- the distance debate
- Premier League golf
- cheating
- media control
A few ‘blips’ that just happen to have arisen simultaneously or an indication that all has not been right in the leadership of the game for quite some time now and that as a consequence individual boils that should have been lanced a while ago have now expanded to the point that several now being close to going ‘pop’ at the same time?

You can count Rory as one of those who doesn't like the Premier League model.

Of course when you've made more money than nearly every one else whose played the game, its always easier to say he doesn't care that much about the money...

"PGA Tour members mentioned 'Saudi interests' being part of the (Premier League) plan and its monetary backing."

That's reason enough to stay away.

Just imagine in addition to watching tournaments playing over courses that look the same week in, week out we will be able to watch the same old faces as well without the distraction of a plucky underdog who might be a surprise winner if only they can hold out over the last round. What could be more refreshing  ;)
