Bellport Country Club vs Garden City Country Club
« on: January 16, 2020, 08:03:01 AM »
Morning all,

Met section qualifiers this year for the Ike on Long Island are being played at Bellport and Garden City Country Club. If you had the choice of which one to play, where would you go? Both of them look interesting. I read a very good review of GCCC on here and Bellport looks to be pretty good too, but I've never played either.

Qualifying gets you into the Met Mid-Am as well, which this year is at Somerset Hills, so there is a definite carrot there. I qualified for the Met Am at Inwood last year. The Ike is at Country Club of Darien. The Ike qualifier is the easiest one to get through (large field in the event and typically about 20ish spots available, but no pesky pros around to make life difficult).

I really want to get into one of the three big ones this year so I can play Somerset Hills, which looks amazing.

I don't have any experience with Bellport.   I was very fortunate this past summer to be invited by a member of this site to play GCCC and enjoyed it very much.

Thanks Joe - GCCC definitely looks really nice. Also looks fairly wide, which I like.
