Does anyone know who is doing the renovation work at IU Bloomington? Hoping it improves the course to get up to the standards of the rest of the Big Ten.

Wow. Good for IU. It's a great piece of property. Too bad they are losing the par-3 aspect of the facility, however.

That is certainly exciting news. While I was a student at IU there were countless rumors of course renovations as well as talk of another course on a separate property. Not sure how many of those rumors were anywhere close to real possibilities.

The land is fairly rambunctious and should offer possibilities for an interesting layout. With the combination of that property and Steve Smyers, I'm predicting an extremely difficult golf course.

Very exciting.

I played the IU course back at the turn of the century. Brutal slog - I recall very narrow playing corridors lined more often than not by dense woods. Hit it straight or lose it, which given the level of my play at that time made it ridiculously difficult.

I did a quick stop in and look around with my wife in the fall.  Tremendous amount of tree removal to open the property.  Lots of bunkering.  I'm hoping the course is open around graduation time so I can build in a proper visit!!
