Thanks for posting this; I wasn't aware of the acquisition.  I've played Brier Creek and Hasentree several times each, and like both quite a bit.  This gives Club Corp a much larger and somewhat different presence in the RDU area, where the only prior golf properties were Devils Ridge and The Neuse.  Neither of those are courses of the quality of Brier Creek or Hasentree, and The Neuse is a semi-private.

Hasentree is a pretty solid residential Fazio. I have only been to a wedding at Briar Creek, but it doesn't seem bad.

I think the Jupiter CC members probably aren't going to be thrilled with lots of cold weather ClubCorp golfers there in Feb and March.

Steve,

CC has been active in the Dallas area with this year's acquisition of TPC Craig Ranch.  While I have widely conflicting reports of the purchase price, most of CC's purchases seem to be based on current market conditions (NOI) and a sober, conservative estimation of how it can grow the business.  I'd be curious to know what the properties sold for if you come across that information.

My home club has been for sale for some time by a non-golfing owner who inherited it without debt from her father.  Word is that CC took a run at buying it a couple of months back, but our owner countered at double the price offered.  There a few members that bad-mouth CC for its focus on entertainment, clubhouse, tennis, etc. as opposed to being solely focused on golf, but a seemingly higher number hope that a sale is completed.  I'm with the latter group.

It looks like Toll Bros has cleaned out all but one of their clubs:

That is their modus operandi as they have developed many more. Their first two were in the Philadelphia area- Laurel Creek in Moorestown, NJ and Blue Bell in Blue Bell, PA. Others include Naples Lakes in FL ,  Treesdale in suburban Pittsburgh, Mizner in Delray Beach, FL and Frenchman's Reserve in Palm Beach Gardens, FL

They are now developing a new community near me in Surprise, AZ with a Nicklaus Design course- Sterling Grove.
