On a similar theme, I'm contemplating a route home that goes via Painswick (I have never played it) on the Sunday afternoon.  Might anyone else be interested?
In June I will be riding the first three stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity.  630km (394 miles) in three days, with 7800m (25,600 feet) of climbing for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

Just FYI Adrian shared some photos on Facebook yesterday that shows the greens at Painswick have been ruined by an idiot on a quad bike (or similar). It didn't look good.

Painswick is closed for golf on Sunday afternoons, so the public can use it as a park.

I hope they catch the fuckers who tore up the 3rd.

I'm thinking of Cleeve Cloud (given the limited chances I have to play what sounds like a soon to be NLE gem) on the Thursday afternoon.  Anyone else interested?

I might be interested! I haven't felt this invested in a golf course since I discovered that Annapolis was closing down. Courses like this aren't easily replaced.

Great.  I'll be driving down from Newcastle, so will look to grab lunch there (is lunch at the club an option) and play early afternoon.  Does that work for you?

Ah, have just re-visited post 1.  I propose Niall, as the only North team member not related to another....

I am waiting to hear from Niall as I spoke to him earlier and he wanted to play somewhere more en route to Welshpool...perhaps Harborne.

I booked two tables of 6 at the Burton for 8:30 on Saturday. If someone comes up with a better plan please let me know.

I also booked at table for six at The Dragon in Montgomery for 8:15 on Thursday. I have no idea where folks are staying except for Niall, Doc and myself...at the Dragon.

As I intended be there if only as a spectator, all of this traffic makes me realize how much I've looked forward to these gatherings.  Maybe next year.  Have a great time guys and stay well.
Some days you play golf, some days you find things.

I'm not really registered, but I couldn't find a symbol for certifiable.

Ooh, just seen the first post. It pains me, as a Yorkshireman, to be thought of as a 'Southerner', but I guess postcodes don't lie!

I'm still planning on playing Church Stretton on Thursday pm. I think Spangles is there with me and maybe we can persuade Niall to drive a touch further and join us in the glorious sunshine forecast.

Conflicted with the thought of joining the greater number planning to play Cleeve Hill, but not keen on the idea of the 2.5 hour drive after golf.

Weather looks really good. We deserve that kind of break after all the nonsense going on around us.

I could swap with you, as one that was originally most certainly a Southerner but has become an adopted Northerner.  That said, I do sort of feel Northern now.....

As to Thursday, the reduced post golf drive might have me leaning towards Church Stretton too....

No, it's OK, i'll stay with my adopted brethren. Better you lead the Pearce hordes charging down from Northumberland.

I think you're heading onto Kington (?), which is just less than an hour from Stretton. You'd save around about an hours drive over coming from Cleeve. Myself, Niall and Sean are overnighting in Montgomery, which is much further from Cleeve, so not quite a like-for-like situation.
