Conrad, Cameron and I have an AirBnB in Kington.  We're waiting to see if Giles and/or either of Cam's brothers, or Iain Greenshields (who guested at Goswick) will join but have 5 rooms, so may have space for another in due course.
In June I will be riding the first three stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity.  630km (394 miles) in three days, with 7800m (25,600 feet) of climbing for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

I'll come along to Kington on the Sat, with giant son and heir hopefully, and will happily fill in for one round for someone who can't or doesn't wish to play 36-holes that day. Otherwise will still come along to meet up with folks and enjoy the craic.

If anyone is planning on playing Minchinhampton Old or Cleeve Cloud or Painswick on the Monday after Buda or wishes to see the old, unused MacKenzie green that a GCA-IMO piece was recently written about let me know.

Add Finlay and Gregor Pearce to the list.  Cash to follow this evening.  I think that fills our AirBnB.

Very fine. We have an after hours drinking house!

Only one spot left. Anybody on the fence should make up their mind.

Mayday,

How much is Birkdale? I could be tempted as I’ve never played it and probably need to before I die!

I’ll pass. No golf course is worth that in my world.

I might well join you at Harlech though.

Lets hope you feel the 5 rounds at Welshpool & Kington for half the cost of Birkdale doesn't disappoint.

Mark,

It must be polarizing because I had several well travelled guys insist that it was a must.

Oh, it definitely is and I know there are posters on here who are fine judges who disagree strongly with me.  So you need to see it anyway, to make up your own mind.  For me, it's a fabulous piece of land and the course isn't much better than the least that could have been done with the site.  When there's so much movement in the land, I just can't believe that the bunkering should be the most interesting feature and dictate the way you play the course.

I look forward to discussing over a few beers in Kington!

I fancy that the prospect of that discussion might well be worth the £245 green fee at Birkdale!

Add Iain Greenshields (who played for the good guys at Goswick) to the list.

Now to work out the AirBnB arrangements.....

Is the man in the canary pants skimming a booking fee to cover his costs. Such passionate recruiting!

While I certainly appreciate the offer to cancel, I think we can all sit on this for a bit longer. Nobody knows what the situation might be in September and I believe B&Bs and hotels will right now be grateful to not get swamped with cancellations.
